Artists
are largely shut out of the political process. While our
ideas are stimulants for the transformation of society, which
mold its thoughts and shape the world in which we live, we
are essentially excluded from the national discourse. Our
nation has a great propensity for overlooking the role of
the artist and the importance of culture. It is disinterested
in this perspective, frightened in fact, and is likely to
consider the contemporary artist an irrelevant member of
a degenerate subculture better seen and not heard.
Only
on condition of a radical widening of definition will it
be possible for art and activities related to art provide
evidence that art is now the only evolutionary-revolutionary
power. Only art is capable of dismantling the repressive
effects of a senile social system that continues to totter
along the deathline. To dismantle and deconstruct in order
to rebuild a dynamic social organism as a work of art -
this is the goal of the Experimental Party.
Our
society will only overcome the repression of our post-apocalyptic
reality when every living person becomes a creator, an
active member of this social organism. We have grown morally
and spiritually weak from our indifference to art and to
the artist. The artist stands for transformation, concern
for the existential condition, extreme states of subjective
experience, those values that were essential to the visionary
aspirations of the now forgotten avant-garde. Their aspirations
must be preserved! |
